Let's go to the video

Two little treats here. First, a great time-lapse sequence of Mount St. Helens, with the sunlight creeping across the fissured landscape and an enormous steam-and-ash emission at 9:43 AM. According to the accompanying text, the plume shot as high as 12,000 feet. When it come to effusions of hot air, however, this clip is even more impressive. Infantile, yes, but very amusing.
